“My childhood home. A marvel of Spanish Revival architecture from the 1920s. Filled with too many amazing memories to list, it was one of the oldest homes in the Palisades and so spectacularly beautiful,” Zoe captioned the post. It wasn’t a mansion, but it was cozy, beautiful, unique, and perfect for me.”

In the touching caption, the actress reflects on how much her home means to her.

“One of my friends growing up called it ‘The Church’ because the 14-foot stained glass ceilings in the living room cast colorful shadows at the end of the day. And for me it was sacred, a sanctuary where we felt the safest. Christmas dinners, Easter egg hunts, trick or treating, weddings, birthdays, baby showers… we celebrated the best times of our lives there,” Zoe wrote. “The family photos that lined the hallways, the artwork, the piano I learned to play, the wedding china, the furniture my great-grandfather made…the reminders of generations past: it all vanished into thin air.”

She continued: “I know we are not alone. Along with another beautiful Los Angeles neighborhood, Alta Dena, the streets of my childhood in Pacific Palisades were all but erased as we knew them. So many people have lost so much.”

Zoe went on to pay tribute to those who have supported her, her family and community. She also paid tribute to the firefighters who worked tirelessly on the frontline, describing them as “true heroes”.

“To all the people who came out for us and our community and Los Angeles as a whole: Thank you. To the firefighters who work around the clock to keep everyone safe: You are our true heroes,” added Zoe. “To the friends who were so wonderful to think of us during this time: texting and calling, visiting, cooking for us, sending clothes to my parents who left with nothing, distracting us with humor and crying with us when we need. Your kindness is the salve that made this bearable. To the strangers who lifted our spirits with kind gestures: you are the true meaning of community.”
