Utah officials recently announced death of a walker whose body was discovered this weekend in Zion National Park.
In a Facebook message published on Sunday, the Sheriff of Washington County said the tourist found at the park Canyon Overlook Trail That morning. He was 37 years old, according to Fox Weather.
“At around 7:06 am the consolidated communication center received a call in which a possible fall from a walker in Zion National Park was installed,” was the post. “Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue was the first to arrive on the spot and found a male deceased and noted that he was to the help of around 7.40 am.”
“Washington representatives arrived shortly thereafter and confirmed their findings.”

The Sheriff office further said that Park Rangers from Zion National Park also responded to the scene, as well as the search and rescue team of the park.
“Detectives of the Sheriff of Washington County’s office are conducting an active investigation,” concluded the statement. “At the moment there are no further details available.”

It is not uncommon for fatal accidents to take place in American national parks, including Zion National Park. Last January a 63-year-old man from California died of a cardiac arrest while walking in Zion.
