Although he seemed a natural on camera, Dylan previously admitted he wasn’t sure he wanted to follows following in his brother’s acting footsteps.
“I’ve been behind the camera. But being able to not stay behind the scenes was a really nice change,” Dylan exclusively said Us Weekly in September 2023 about his plans to try something new. “So I think as long as I can wear all those hats and still make the stories I want to tell (that would be great). Being able to experience it first hand is really nice. It’s a good combination of both worlds.”
While Zack rose to stardom after that landing on multiple TVs and film roles, Dylan enjoyed playing a smaller role behind the scenes. His move to appearing on a competition show came after Dylan previously admitted he doesn’t try to pretend to be someone he’s not.
“What Zac does, I could never do. I play myself on camera while Zach plays the characters. Those are two different skill sets,” he added at the time. “He can play different characters and I can only play myself.”

What does Dylan actually do?
To a question from Wells Adams during the Traitors season 3 premiere, Dylan said he’s best known for his work in “social media.” But Dylan left a lasting impression online thanks to his sweet relationship with brother Zach and his work in the entertainment industry.
Dylan started out as a physical production coordinator on films like Jersey Boys, American Sniper, Get Hard and The accountant. From there, Dylan became an assistant Unforgettable, ready for player one and A star is born. His most recent work consisted of performing stunts on Disney+ shows The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.
How does Dylan’s family fit into the equation?

Following Efron on social media means blessing your timeline with adorable family photos featuring younger siblings Dylan and Zach. The brother’s parents were married for almost two decades before separating in 2016. Dylan and Zach’s father, David Efronhe eventually moved on with his second wife, Jenny, and they welcomed children Olivia and Henry.
“My motto (for building a strong relationship with brother Henry and sister Olivia) has just been FaceTime. I try to see them as much as I can,” Dillon said us. “But really, I just remember my brother being such a good brother to me and I want to be that to them. So it’s really just… I like to think what they think of me and I want to be that presence for them.”
Dylan expressed his gratitude to Zach for as a good example.
“Honestly, my little sister is the cutest. She doesn’t have favorites, so we play with each other more. But every time we see her – I can’t say enough about her. And then Henry,” Dylan then continued. “He’s just getting into that age where he’s (developing his) personality. So it’s really hard to choose between the two. I see myself so much in Henry and then (in) Olivia, I see Zach. She will probably be an actress (because) she has such a big personality. Henry is a little athlete.
Does Dylan have reality TV experience?
While Dylan worked mostly on screenplay projectshe was a Netflix producer Down to Earthwhich followed Zach as he traveled the world and highlighted different life experiences, cultures, culinary endeavors, as well as green energy and sustainable living practices.
“I like doing things with my brother. There’s something really comforting about being with family(s) doing these things. That will always be high in what I love to do. But I think it’s good to do things separately,” Dylan exclusively said us in September 2023 “Because I remember back in the day we wanted to do a show together and I really wouldn’t have been prepared for that. He’s been in front of the camera all his life and it’s second nature to him. I was a bit of a shy kid, so I had to grow into that.”
Dylan said it would be excited to work with Zac by design again in the future. “Now would be the right time,” he shared. “We are still thinking (what to do). We are in the process of thinking. We really just want to take a step back and see what stories we want to tell, how we can do it and have fun. We want to keep leveling it up.”
Dylan is also working on telling his own stories with a three-part YouTube series starting in 2023. about surf culture in California.
What skills does Dylan bring to the table?

Over the years, Dylan has documented his interest in surfing, skateboarding, kayaking, and running.
“One thing I quickly got out of was speed flying, where you run off a cliff with a parachute and then drive really fast. I wanted to do it and quickly backed away from it after I did. It’s really scary,” he revealed to us in 2023. “If I were to go back to it, I would go back to normal skydiving and stay away from it.”
He continued: “Especially when I’m on the road a lot, I don’t try to lift heavy weights. I just want to use my muscles, stretch and try to keep my body flexible. I don’t want to kill myself trying to use heavy weights so I just make sure everything is used. Where you get into trouble is if you get used to sitting all day and then not using your body at all.
What does Zach think of Dylan’s chances on Traitors?
Ahead of his time in Scotland airing on the Peacock, Zac showed his support for Dylan’s latest venture. “I think Dylan is going to win,” Zach told E! News in June 2024 “I hope he does because he’s so good at games. Always has been since we were kids. He’s like a game master. … If anyone can do that, it’s him. I support him.”
