The WBO Mandatory Xander Zayas is convinced to get a shot at WBC and WBO Junior Middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora afterwards. The 22-year-old Zayas (21-0, 13 kos) already has his tall camp partners to help him train for Fundora 6’5 1/2 “(22-1-1, 14 kos).
Fundora’s choice
Fundora supporter Sampson Lewkowicz has not yet said whether they will get the match from Zayas or focus on combating a unification afterwards. Lewkowicz said last Saturday night that Xander is young enough to wait.

Interestingly, the top ranking has placed Zayas to combat fundora for the WBO zone rather than in the direction of compulsory champion IBF Bakhram Murtazaliev. They obviously know that Zayas’s lack of power would put him at the mercy of Bakhram, who would cut him off.
In addition, IBF would not make it easier for Zayas to become mandatory in the way the WBO. He would be expected to fight a good one like Yoeniz Tellez and would probably not do well against this type. The WBO gave the green light for Xander to face Slowa Spomer in an eliminate title. This was like the WBO that gives Zayas the compulsory position on a silver platter without having to work for it.
This is good for him, but also bad because he is not ready to fight for a world title against Fundora because his opposition was so poor his whole career. When the candidates bend backwards to build a fighter for marketing reasons, they are completely unprepared when they finally fight for a world title, unless the champion is poor.

“He’s a tall fighter, but if you look at his struggles, he doesn’t know how to fight abroad, he’s flat, he doesn’t have the best legs, he is a warrior and he knows how to fight, but I just feel like I can benefit from many things,” Zayas continued.
“We already have boxing partners for this camp.
There is little chance that the Sebastian Fundora will agree to defend its titles in Puerto Rico against Zayas, unless it goes to the offering of wallets and the top position. However, it doesn’t matter. Fundora is going to be a nightmare for Xander, no matter where the race is, and the judges will not have the opportunity to score the race.
Zayas does not have the power or experience to beat a fighter like the fundora. The top ranking has kept Xander under the protection since the Pro returned and fits the second degree opposition to “develop” him, but the disadvantage is that he is not ready for top fighters.
The things they worked on for Xander against fighters like Slowa Spomer will not be effective against the fundora and does not matter that he has many tall partners lined up for training camp. They are not going to have the kind of talent that the “tall inferno” has, because if they did, they would not work as partners.
