Most Decorated K-9 in us History died.
Hurricane, a 15-year-old Belgian Malinois, died on Tuesday after more than a decade in the secret service.
“Hurricane was a real American hero”, the White House X account posted Wednesday. “The most decorated K-9 in American history, he bravely defended the White House and retired to help helping other dogs via @hurricane_k9. His legacy of courage and loyalty will live on. Rest easily, hurricane.”
Hurricane gained national fame in 2014, when he heroic struggled to the ground heroic after the man had violated the gate of the White House.
De intruder, Dominic Adesanya, scaled The White House Hek and landed on the Noord -Gazon in October 2014 during the Obama government. The intruder, who later argued guilty for breaking, was met for the first time by a secret service dog named Jordan, before Hurricane came into action and undermined the intruder.

Former President Barack Obama And first Lady Michelle Obama was only a few meters away from the incident, according to the New York Times to a movie in the White House Theater.

“He really beat Hurricane badly,” said Hurricane’s handler, Marshall Mirarchi, on Tuesday about the incident that the K-9 left with swollen legs and wound hips, according to Times. “But hurricane did not give up.”
Hurricane was born in 2009 and served as a Special Operations dogs in the Secret From 2012 to 2016.
He received the prize for the deserving service from the Secret Service in 2014 for his courage, as well as the Secretary’s Award for Valor of the Department of Homeland Security in 2015. He also received the leading service medal in 2022, according to the secret service.

“For every shift of every day, we strive at the Secret Service to maintain five core values; duty, honor, loyalty, justice and courage,” said the uniformed division assistant -chef Michael Buck in 2022 during the distinguished medal securitymony. “They are the five points of the star of our desk, and on a dark night in October 2014 they were embodied by a very good boy named Hurricane.”

Hurricane visited the White House one last time before his death this week and was able to say goodbye to his former team, Mirarchi told The Times.
Hurricane retired in 2016 after the injuries he sustained during the attack and was taken over by Mirarchi.

“What made hurricane so special was that he could be so wild and brave, but at the same time could be so loving and friendly,” Mirarchi told The Times. “He could bite and do fear all day long, and when he comes home, he was this loving, caring, friendly soul.”
