The conflict between Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers at Big Bash League 2024-25 he went to his absolute best as Jacob Bethel he had a special shot for the home fans to enjoy and put his side in a commanding position against the Strikers.
Jacob Bethel smashed the ball into the stands
Bethell arrived at the crease as the Strikers invited the hosts to bat first after the win. After the opener Jake Fraser McGurk and Tim Seifert were dismissed early, the onus of turning the Renegades into a respectable outfit fell to Bethell and Josh Brown. The two batters after some struggle, managed to get through the Renegades total of 80 runs in the 11th over.
Seeing the two sets of batters, the Strikers skipper opted to test both with some spin and Cameron Boyce called to bowl the 11th over. Boyce restricted the Renegades batting to 4 wickets but bowled a loose 5th delivery to Bethell. The middle-order batsman wasted no time in punishing the bowler and hit it towards the leg side for a towering 96 meters six. It was the first and only six of Bethell’s innings as he was dismissed later after scoring 21 runs off 21 balls.

A disciplined bowling effort from the Strikers restricted the Renegades total
Renegades had a disappointing match with the bat as they were severely limited by the bowling line-up of the Strikers. Brown was the only Renegades player to score some runs and was instrumental in shaping the Renegades innings. Henry Thornton had a remarkable match with the bowl as he dismissed 3 Renegades batters and gave away just 22 runs in his 4-over spell. Notable contributions from Lloyd Pope and Brendan Doggett He also helped the Strikers to restrict the hosts to 142/9 in 20 overs.
