The e -mail from Dawoh warns that the UN “is currently experiencing its worst liquidity crisis since its establishment. The situation is expected to deteriorate the situation before an improvement takes place.”
Dawoh said that UNDSS will lose 100 employees and that their presence will be eliminated in 35 to 45 countries, while noting that “regional hubs” will be determined “in the remaining 120 countries where Unnss will retain a presence.”

Fox News Digital asked Dawoh about the authenticity of the e -mail and which part of the USSS budget was paid by USAID, but received no response.

Farhan Haq, vice-spokesperson for the UN Secretary General António Guterres, told Fox News Digital that UNDSS received only about $ 20 million from USAID last year. “USAID has informed us that part of this financing has been terminated; other projects will continue to support USAID,” he said.
While Dawoh’s e-mail indicates that the loss of financing the UNDSS is related to a reduction of extra-budgetary sources, Haq stated that “extra budgetary Financing of USAID is a relatively small part of the department’s budget, most of which come from the normal budget of the UN, a UN costs for sharing costs and peace support. “

The source said that concern includes the possibility of collecting pensions and gaining access to their Federal Credit Union accounts from the United Nations. The source indicated that because “most of these employees who lose their jobs are … on G-4-Visa”, the change can even influence their ability to stay in the US
“This is an implication that goes beyond just losing the jobs of individuals. It has consequences for families, and this can be enormous in the coming weeks with new cuts that influence UN agencies.”
