UK Open Darts 2025: Luke Humphries hits Beau Greaves as Luke Littler and Michael Van Gerwen Progress in Minehead | News news



Luke Humphries came through a real battle with Beau Greaves to complete a tough 10-7 victory and move to the last 32 at the UK Open in Minehead.

Greaves had already created a story in its UK debut, winning its first three matches on the day against Stefan Bellmont, Rhys Griffin and Mickey Mansell to move to the fourth round and searched even more when he got his 2024 world champion.

“I really liked the game. It was a lot of fun and Beau played amazing,” Humphries said ITV SPORT.

“He’s a fantastic player and she really had to bring the best to me. Ladies’ game has grown massively and is because of her.

“If it were a Premier League game, it would have hit me. It is probably a top 64 player in the world. But you don’t want to put excessive pressure on it.”

Greares Elelf acknowledged that her game fell on the last two legs, but her UK Open debut will only be a positive experience for her career.

“I started well and knew at the end of the match I fell a little. That’s what I work for my game,” he said.

“What experience, playing someone like Luke will only help my game. I just liked to watch him throw.

“It’s a learning curve. I’m happy and I had a good game.”

Humphries will now face close friend Ryan Searle in the fifth round.

Luke kept the show enough by Peter Wright to complete a 10-9 win on a decisive foot to move in the last 32 where he will face Jermaine wattimena.

Wright, the 2017 UK Open champion, won three feet in the 14-Darters to move 3-2 ahead and then found another spell with three tonnes of tonnes in a row, followed by a 12-Pottoi break to get the race all the way.

From there, Welshman fell on an 8-2 advantage, completing the match on the tops for a possible 10-3 victory.
