UCLA -star Maya Brady agrees to become a member of Upstart Athletes Unlimited Softball League: Report


UCLA Softball Shortstop Maya Brady has committed himself to play in the new athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL), ESPN reported.

Adding a player of Brady’s caliber and star power is expected to give a boost to the Upstart League that will perform its inaugural version this week.

The 23-year-old is the niece of seven-time Super Bowl winner and current FOX Sports Lead NFL analyst Tom Brady.

The left-handed UCLA Bruin also plays in the outfield and has received the first team All-American Honors twice. Brady was also previously named PAC-12 player of the year and was the Softball America Freshman of the Year in 2020.

UCLA has long had one of the best softball programs in the nation, and Brady is in second place on the home run of the school.

Former Miami Marlins General Manager Kim NG Spiet Ausl and was appointed Senior Advisor last year. NG said that the competition will be “Major League baseball for softball”.

The competition will contain four teams that play 30 games in six to eight cities in the first season.

The Bandits, Blaze, Vols and Talons are the original four teams of the competition.

“Softball is ready for enormous growth at a professional level, and the AUSL meets the moment by creating the campaign, softball competition of World Class that has been earning this sport for so long,” said NG.

“The caliber of players fighting to be drawn up tomorrow Olympians, Team USA veterans, All-Americans and NCAA champions is further illustrates that the best players in the world are together as a unit of founders who are the following will make big things in women’s sports.

Brady hit 71 home runs with 246 RBIs in 249 games At UCLA.

Last summer, two different softball competitions held with four teams games, women’s professional fastpitch and association of fastpitch professionals.
