Tyra Banks gets emotional when she reveals her LA home is on fire

Tyra Banks talks about losing his home in Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old supermodel revealed on Monday, January 20, on the Australian morning show Sunrise that she is among the celebrities whose house burned down in devastating forest fires which started on January 7.

Banks said she and her business partner Louis Bélanger-Martinlearned the sad news while in Australia, where he spends his time when not in the US

“I lost my house,” the first America’s Next Top Model host shared. “I haven’t really talked about it, but, yes, I have. I just didn’t want to draw too much attention to myself. I feel like there are a lot of people who need this attention so I haven’t talked about it but I can’t sit here and not tell the truth that yes we lost our house.

As the wildfires continue to spread through the Los Angeles area, several celebrities are taking to social media to share how they’ve been affected. “Evacuated and safe with kids, dogs and cats. Banks continued: “We were at a friend’s house here and we were celebrating and having fun. I kept checking my phone, not for my house, but for friends and family, making sure they were evacuating and everything. And then I asked my partner, I was like, “I see something here, what do you think?” and he (nods). And I just got it together and I just didn’t say anything to my friends and I just stayed in the moment and then we went home and we cried and we had our moment.”

Banks noted that she and Belanger-Martin split their time between Australia and New York, so most of her belongings are safe. “A lot of those memories-memories are here and in New York, so I haven’t lost them, thank God,” she said. “There were some memories we lost … it’s hard.”

Fueled by powerful Santa Ana wind gusts and dry conditions, the wildfires destroyed thousands of homes, displaced residents in Los Angeles and killed at least 25 people. According to Associated Pressthe fires covered 63 square miles of land.

Stars included Spencer Pratt and Come on Monday, Paris Hilton and Billy Crystal also lost their homes in the fires.

“I didn’t know what to do,” Montag said Us Weekly on Wednesday, Jan. 15, referring to the moment she realized she and her family needed to escape the wildfire burning through Pacific Palisades. “Nothing could have prepared me for this… You just can’t think about it. I started just packing things that made sense – not really thinking about anything else.

Montag revealed that in a panic, her priority when packing up their lives was “the kids’ stuff.” ( Hills Alum and Pratt have children Gunnar, 7, and Ryker, 2.)

“I don’t have any pictures,” Montag said. “I have all these photo albums that I took of Spencer before there was Instagram and TikTok and iPhones. These pictures (that) I will never have again. All that sentimental stuff just went away, you know?’
