Twenty accused of gang-related crimes about deadly Nevada Prison Brawl


Twenty people have been charged and the last arrest was recently made in connection with a prison of Nevada who killed three prisoners and were injured five others.

“The pursuit of justice does not stop at the prison gates, and those responsible for the death of the three prisoners in Ely’s state prison will be held responsible,” Ford said in a statement. “We are committed to ensuring that violence and misconduct within our state correction system are met with the full power of the law.”

The fight took place on July 30, 2024. Three prisoners died: 41-year-old Anthony Williams, the 22-year-old Connor Brown and 43-year-old Zackaria Luz.

One of the accused people, Andrew Emerich, was arrested In Reno In January, 14 weeks after he was released from the prison of Ely, KSNV TV reported.

The correction facility is described by the Nevada Department of Corrections as the “designated Maximum security prison “ For the state with a capacity of 1,183 prisoners.

About 400 employees are currently working at the facility.

In December 2022, several prisoners there held a hunger strike about what proponents and some family members described as unsafe circumstances and insufficient food portions.
