Tuchel wants to “play with excitement” as England prepares for a new era

Thomas Tuchel says he is willing to “play with excitement” as he prepares for his first match responsible for the three lions.

The Nation will watch Wembley Stadium as Euro 2024 Welcome to Albania on Friday night.

Four days later, the three lions will host Latvia in the same arena.

And in front of the games, Tuchel was next to Harry Kane speaking in the media, as the prediction of the race continues to grow.

The fans have watched England come so close to Gareth Southgate and the new German boss believes that the reason they never got the line is because the team was afraid to lose.

Now, he wants to lead a restoration to the whole team and build things from scratch to a different mentality.

He said: “I want to play with the enthusiasm, hunger and joy of winning. Acceptance of failure is a part of it.

“They reminded me of the first meal together and the first workout because I was so excited about the job.

“It’s because of them, they were excellent in the way they behaved and how they interact as a team. They were amazing on the pitch. We had high quality and very sharp training sessions.

“Everyone was open to give their best, good energy, good atmosphere.

“I have felt the excitement in the camp. There is a buzz for the first race tomorrow, I have to make people believe in me.

“I think we are trying to apply style, structure and rhythm.

“In modern football and the quality of the opponent, Albania and the respect you need to give to every opponent, especially from the ball, it is necessary to remain open to adapt.

“Whether in a structure or composition and do whatever we need. I don’t think we can ignore and say that we do what we want and do what we do and everyone else will adapt to us.

“I want an emotional and hungry group. We need to respect the quality of the Premier League and reflect it.”

Wembley is considered as the home of football and is expected to be full for both Tuchel’s games in March.

The former Chelsea boss acknowledged to be nervous, which is quite normal, but he is excited to feel the energy inside the court.

He added: “I hope that so much can see what I see on a daily basis. What I saw in recent days was amazing and it was just a pleasure to watch and be part of it.

“Hopefully we can carry this energy and this hunger tomorrow to the game.

“It’s amazing. We have a complete Wembley. It’s very exciting.

“I’m always a little nervous before the races, so this won’t be different. Let’s hope we can prove the point and take the first step.”
