The Trump administrations Treasury Department is located in the middle of weighing a “wide range” of possibilities to streamline internal revenue service in the midst of reports to half of the IRS staff, can be terminated on Wednesday, Fox News Digital learned Wednesday.
“In accordance with the focus of the Trump administration on efficiency and shortage reduction, the Treasury Department is considering a wide range of possible streamline initiatives,” a Treasury spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Wednesday afternoon.
“Although no plan has been approved so far, modernization is needed to keep track of the process with which Americans submit their taxes, including the reality that more than 90% of the individual tax returns are submitted electronically,” the spokesperson continued. “These changes are aimed at improving the customer service of the taxpayer and guaranteeing a smooth and successful submission season.”

The spokesperson for the Treasury Department spoke with FOX News Digital in the midst of reports that a maximum of half of the staff of around 90,000 people from the IRS could be terminated.
The Nation’s Tax Agency was the preparation of plans for the terminations as part of the mission of the Department of Government Efficiency to check federal agencies and to remove government spending, mismanagement and fraud, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.
Thousands of employees in different authorities – including the Ministry of Health and Human Services, the US Agency for International Development and the Department of Energy – have ended while the Trump administration is working to close the federal government and to re -align its agencies with “America First”. In particular, agencies have terminated probation staff who have not yet achieved full -time work at the federal government, because they are recent employees or have just been again assigned to a new role within the government.

So far, the IRS has already terminated around 7,000 probation staff.
In addition to more termination, the Trump governance is said to be planning to again grant some IRS agents to help the Ministry of Interior Security with immigration enforcement, the Associated Press reported. President Donald Trump Irs agents drove to the border in January after his inauguration.

“On the first day I immediately stopped hiring new IRS agents,” Trump said during a rally in circa Resort & Casino Las Vegas in January. “They hired or tried to hire 88,000 new employees to go after you. And we are developing a plan to end them all or maybe we will move them to the border. And I think we will move them to the border.”

“Where they can wear weapons, you know, they are so strong on weapons, but these people can wear weapons, so we will probably move them to the border,” he continued.
Certain special IRS agents may wear firearms as part of their duties, according to IRS Code, 26 US Code § 7608.
