Trump reveals Pick to lead the administration of drug enforcement


President Donald Trump has nominated a state official from Virginia to lead the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in his new administration.

In a truthful social post on Tuesday, Trump wrote that he nominated Terry Cole to become the next manager of the DEA. Cole is currently the secretary of public safety and domestic safety for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

According to the website of the Virginia government, Cole was previously the staff chef and executive officer at the Special Operations Division of the Dea’s Department of Justice and he was also a representative of the DEA at the National Security Council. The website also notes that Cole worked for the DEA 22 years, although Trump wrote that he was employed by the DEA for 21 years.

In a post on social media, Trump said that he was “satisfied” to announce Cole, who must be confirmed by the US Senate as his candidate.

“Terry is a dea veteran of 21 years, with guided tours in Colombia, Afghanistan and Mexico City, who currently acts as Virginia’s Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security, which leads 11 state agencies, with more than 19,000 employees,” Post van Trump read .

Trump added that Cole obtained a diploma from the Rochester Institute of Technology, as well as certificates from the University of Virginia and the University of Notre Dame.

Trump originally called Florida Sheriff Chad Chronister As his first choice to lead the DEA, but Chronister, who acts as the Sheriff of Hillsborough County, later withdrew his name from the consideration in December.

“To have been nominated by President-Elect @REALDONALDTRUMP to serve as manager of the Drug Enforcement Administration is the honor of your life,” wrote Chronister at the time in a post on X.

“In recent days, because the seriousness of this very important responsibility cooperated, I have concluded that I should respectfully think about it. There is more work to do for the citizens of Hillsborough County and I am dedicated to many initiatives. “
