The athlete said her father “partyed all the time” during her childhood.

“We tried to live with him, but he parties 24/7. He brings random bitches,” she said. “My mother didn’t want to – she was strong enough to handle it because even to this day I still believe that my father never loved anyone after my mother.”

Dennis married Moyer in 2003. According to Trinity, “her father’s demons were too strong” and she filed for divorce in 2004, but the marriage was not dissolved until 2012.

“I think my mom just saw the situation, ‘We love each other. It’s not going to work,” Trinity said. “For my kids, I can’t let them see you treat me like that, embarrass me like that, and have a party all the time.”

Trinity also spoke candidly about her father’s struggles with substance abuse. (Dennis has openly discussed his battle with alcohol abuse and has entered rehab several times.)

“He’s an alcoholic,” she said. “It’s something I don’t want to say, but I’m just like, damn it. That is the truth.”

Trinity initially said her father was “in our lives less” as she and DJ continued to grow.

“We saw him once, twice, three, four times a year,” she recalls. “Every time they were together it was the same… My mom was valid and what the hell are you doing? Help us and help your children.”

As Trinity and DJ got older, they “understood the situation more” and saw Dennis “less” – despite living in the same town.

“Before the divorce happened, my dad was actually helping out with money. … He would actually give my mom money and let us live a little life,” she recalled. “When the divorce happened, it was just like, ‘Well … you.’ … We’re barely making enough money to pay rent.”

Despite what happened behind closed doors during her childhood, Trinity said she still publicly supports her father.

“That’s the crazy part, we still went to these events like we were just a happy little family. Dressing, styling, his (2011) retirement in Jersey, all those things we attended,” she said. “It was the weirdest thing because we did things for him and we’ve always done things for him. He wanted to have a good image that his family was by his side.

“Now I answer the phone for my conscience. If something happens, God forbid, I want to know I did it. Or if he was to hear my voice before something happened,” she said. “That’s why I answer the phone, not because of me.”
