“I am considering a strong point to represent AZ-07, a place where I was born and raised, my country served in the Marine Corps and protected democracy. I will have more to say in the coming days.
“At the moment we have to remember and appreciate the life and legacy of the late congress member Grijalva.”
As part of the “dismissal” law of the state “, Fontes should leave its role, and Democratic government Katie Hobbs should name his replacement.

“Many have asked me if I would consider running to continue my father’s inheritance. Between tears and hugs are my family and I are our in -depth loss and that of our community, state and nation,” she said in a statement.

The special primary elections for the seat will be July 15 and the general elections will be September 23. Grijalva won the November elections by more than 63% of the votes.
As for other democratic candidates in the field, mayor Regina Romero and says Rep. Alma Hernandez chose not to walk in the special elections. From a geographical point of view, the vast majority of the district falls along the southern border of Arizona, which has become a national flash point in recent years because of the migrant and drug crisis.
