Timothee Chalamet revealed he was fined $79 after riding an electric bike to the London premiere of his new film, Complete obscurity.
The Oscar nominee, 29, was pictured posing in a dapper navy suit on the back of a green and white Lime bike as he attended the premiere on Tuesday, January 14, at the BFI Southbank. He appears on the French talk show Daily on Wednesday, January 15, Chalamet said he chose the mode of transportation because of traffic that threatened to derail his appearance.
However, his highly relatable moment did not come without risk. The actor revealed he was fined £65 – roughly $79 – for not parking the bike properly.
“There was a traffic jam and I wasn’t actually allowed to park there and I got a £65 fine,” Chalamet said on Wednesday, according to a clip posted via X.

He joked: “And it’s actually terrible because it was an advertisement for them,” referring to Lime, which operates electric bikes in the British capital at a subsidized price to allow people to get around the city.
