Tim Walz says he was kidding when he encouraged Tesla’s stock: “These people have no sense of humor”


First he was a “knucklehead”, now he is a “smarta-.”

Minnesota Gov. Tim WalzA Democrat, said on Saturday that he made a joke when he made a remark last week to mock Tesla and his CEO Elon Musk for the recent downward trend of the company on the stock market.

Walz tried to clarify his comments during a town hall in Rochester, Minnesota.

“This guy bothers me in a way that is probably unhealthy,” said Walz, referring to Musk. “I have to be careful with being a smarta. I joked. These people have no sense of humor. They are the most literal people.”

“But my point was that they are all angry and I said something that I probably shouldn’t have been talking about a company,” he went on.

Earlier in the week, the governor held an event in Wisconsin when he mocked the falling stock of Tesla.

“Some of you know this. On the iPhone they have added those small shares – app. I have added Tesla to give me a small boost during the day – $ 225 and fall,” Walz said. “And if you have one, we don’t blame you. You can take tooth floss and pull the Tesla -thing off.”

From March, Tesla’s stock 41.4% years have fallen to date.

There have been a series of recent incidents with vandalism focused on Tesla vehicles in a protest against Musk for his role in the government of President Donald Trump.

Walz Criticized Musk On Saturday for his role in the Ministry of Government Efficiency of Doge, in which the Billionary Tech Executive tries to reduce the federal workforce as a cost -saving initiative for the federal government.

“They are all except that Tesla -thing, but they do not care about the lack of respect that they have shown to employees of the Minneapolis va who take care of our veterans, and they fire them. They don’t care,” said the governor.

“It may be me. When I am the richest man in the world, I am just handing out that money on the street,” he added. “It would be just as much fun to help people. Go help people. Not this guy.”
