Tiger forests On Tuesday announced that his mother, Kultida, died. She was 78.
The legendary PGA Tour Golfer made the announcement in post on X. He added a statement and a photo of her in the post. He asked for privacy while he and his family were mourning.

“It is with genuine sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, died early this morning,” Woods wrote. “My mother was her own natural power, her mind was just unmistakable. She was quickly with the needle and a smile. She was my biggest fan, biggest supporter, without her none of my personal performance would have been possible. Was loved by so much, But especially because of her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie.
‘Thank you all for your support, prayers and privacy at this difficult time for me and my family. I love you mom. “

Tiger was the only child of Kultida and Earl Woods together. Tiger has a few half brothers and sisters from his father’s first marriage. Kultida met Earl while he was on tour in the army in Thailand. She was from Thai, Chinese and Dutch descent.
Kultida and Earl moved to Brooklyn, New York, after they were married, and then with Cypress, CaliforniaWhere Tiger was born.
ESPN noted That Tiger, whose real name is Eldrick, is named after his mother and father. The name Eldrick started with an E – in honor of Earl – and ended with a K – in honor of Kultida.

He was nicknamed Tiger after Earl’s lost comrade in Vietnam, Tiger Phong. The name continued to hold all his life.
