Arne Slot says his side in Liverpool has “all the ingredients” to be successful this season, despite the fact that he missed the opportunity to go 10 points clear to the top of the Premier League table after holding 2-2 from Aston Villa.
In a fascinating meeting at Villa Park, Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool an early lead before goals from Youre Tielemans and Ollie Watkins before the break turned the tie on his head.
Trent Alexander-Arnold leveled things shortly after time, as Arne Slot’s team had to be installed for a point.

The result leaves the Reds eight points away from the second placed Arsenal, which now has a game in hand.
But Liverpool’s boss believes that his team can achieve this term success.
“It matters where we are on the championship table. There is always pressure when you play for Liverpool,” Slot told Tnt Sports after the game.
“We want to achieve something together this season and we have all the ingredients for it.
“There are still 12 games for the Champions League games to go, but we are happy where we are.”
However, Slot admitted that he was frustrated in more than one cases where he believes the result does not reflect the performance.
The Dutchman also seemed to distinguish the striker Darwin Nunez, who missed a glorious opportunity to put Liverpool in front of the second half of the unai Emery side.

“There were a little too much where we have played games where it is worth more than we got,” Slot said.
“I look at the Newcastle game (December) where I admitted at the last minute, and some other games included today, where in my opinion, if there was a team that was worth winning, it was us.
“I think we had some very good times and even scored the first goal from a good pressing moment. But we got it the way the game went. They (Villa) could return to the last minute but if you look at the odds we had In the second half to move on, you can understand that there is a person in the dressing room who feels quite down.
“And you know who I think.”
Then for Liverpool is a trip to reign in the Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday. In the meantime, it hosts Chelsea on Saturday.
