Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart said a “football review” takes place throughout the club, as Ibrox Barry Ferguson legend was named as a successor to Philippe Clement for the rest of the season.
Former coach of former Rangers Captain Ferguson will include Clement’s assistant director, Issame Charai and Neil McCann, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor, with his first game at Kilmarnock in Scottish Premiership on Wednesday (8pm GMT).
In their first game at home since they were hit by the Scottish Cup by the second level Queen’s Park on 9 February, the 55-time champions were hit 2-0 by St Mirren on Saturday to leave them 13 points behind leaders and their Bitter Celtic opponents and Plan the end of the reign of Clement’s 14 months.

“I was clear that everyone is judged in the results and no one will take unlimited time in any role in the club,” Steward said Rangers website.
“Finally, the team’s response after their early exit from the Scottish Cup was the reason for deep concern, leading the board to conclude that the action had to be taken now.
“I want to repeat: The issues we are dealing with deeper than the manager. The ongoing football revision seeks to address these issues and will continue to apply its findings in the coming weeks and months before appointing a new permanent manager.”

Ferguson who won the championship, the Scottish Cup and the league in two spells in Ibrox, playing for the first time for the Club between 1997 and 2003 and returning from 2005 to 2009.
The 47 -year -old resigned from his last role in the third level of Alloa Athletic in February 2022, after winning nine of his 33 games.
After a short spell as the director of Blackpool in the EFL Championship in 2014, winning three of the 20 games he overseered, Ferguson spent almost three years each in Clyde and Kelty Hearts.
He reached the final of the fourth grade Scottish with Clyde and won the promotion from the Lowland League and the fourth tier with Kelty.
