Paris Saint-Germain “never considered” signing Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, according to chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi.
Salah is out of contract at the end of the season and has expressed his frustration that a new deal has yet to be agreed.
This has put many clubs on alert with the Egypt star potentially talking to non-English sides in January, but Al-Khelaifi insists PSG, despite reports to the contrary, are not in the running.
Speaking in Budapest this morning, he said: “It’s not true. He’s a fantastic and amazing player, but we’ve never thought about him, to be honest. We know every club would love to have him, but that rumor for us is just not true.”

Al Khelaifi supports Luis Enrique
PSG are top of Ligue 1 and on course for their fourth consecutive title, but all is not well at the Parc des Princes with reports that the players are growing increasingly frustrated with manager Luis Enrique’s methods.
Al Khelaifi made clear, however, his satisfaction with the former Barcelona boss and insisted the club’s long-term plan was on track.
He added: “There are a lot of rumors about players but we are very clear. We have one of the youngest teams in Europe, if not the youngest, with an average age of 22.5 years. We are building a team for the future with our amazing coach.
“We have a long-term plan with this team and the coach. Our players are united and a fantastic team with a great atmosphere. In my opinion, we have the best coach in the world right now. It builds a project for the future. Results matter, but we remain focused on our work.
“There are always rumors in the media – they want to sell newspapers. But I believe in our project, our system, our coach and our plan. If there is an opportunity to sign players in January, of course we will explore.”
