Jessica Simpsonthe famous family has been making headlines over the years.
After Jessica rose in 1999. with the release of his debut album Sweet kissesher younger sister, Ashlee Simpsonserved as one of her backup dancers before starting her own career in the music industry.
While continuing to pursue her music career, Jessica got married Nick Lachey in 2002 and became a star of the MTV reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. after divorce of the couple in 2005 Johnson met Eric Johnson in 2010
Six months later, Johnson popped the question to Jessica. The couple said yes in 2014. and went on to welcome daughter Maxwell, son Ace, and daughter Birdie in 2012, 2013, and 2019, respectively.
“Being a mother is the best opportunity and challenge I’ve ever been blessed with in my life,” Jessica said us Weekly in May 2018 “My kids are in this amazing stage right now where I really listen to them without judgment and they teach me so much. These little innocent children teach me so much about life.”
In 2025 Jessica shared she and Johnson break up.

Tina Ann Drew
Jessica’s mother and father, Joe Simpsondivorced in 2012. Years later, Jessica reflects on how their breakup affected her life.
“I think when your parents are divorced when you’re older, it’s so weird,” Jessica exclusively speaking us in March 2021 “I wouldn’t change that, although I feel like it made it harder for me to accept other people in their lives. … I really didn’t know what to do with him. I didn’t know what was friendship and what wasn’t. I didn’t know if they were still what I was taught and waited to have sex until they were married.
Joe Simpson
Jessica shared in her 2020 memoir, Open the bookthat Joe told her about his breakup with Tina when she was in the hospital giving birth to her daughter Maxwell. Jessica took her mother’s side in the divorce, which led to tension between her and her father.
“They had been married for thirty-four years and it was difficult for me to be with them since they stopped loving each other,” she wrote. “I was blindsided by this news, which triggered his natural venality. He presented it to me as a positive thing: “You gave me the confidence… You gave me an outlet.” Great, I thought, “I’ve broken my own heart.”
Eventually, Jessica improved her relationship with her father.
Ashlee Simpson
Ashley’s younger sister has continued to welcome children who are close in age to Jessica’s children. Ashley, who welcomed her son Bronx in 2008. with her ex-husband Pete Wentzsaid us in 2012 that Jessica needed a little guidance when it came to parenting.
“I’m so proud of her!” she said. “There were little things here and there (I advised her) that you ask your friends and other moms (about), but other than that, she’s great.”
After breaking up with Wentz, Ashley married Evan Ross in 2014 The couple welcomed Jagger in 2015. and Ziggy in 2020.
Eric Johnson
After his divorce with Carey D’AngeloJohnson met Jessica in 2010. and proposed six months later. The couple got married in 2014. and welcomed Maxwell, Ace and Birdie.
In January 2025 Jessica shared that she and Johnson they went their separate ways. “Eric and I are living separately as we work through a painful situation in our marriage,” she said in a statement to us. “Our children come first and we focus on what is best for them. We are grateful for all the love and support coming our way and appreciate the privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
