Texas Death Row prisoner David Leonard Wood’s execution, who had been established this week, was stopped on Tuesday by a Court of Appeal in Texas.
Wood, 67, spent almost 33 years in the death cell and was planned to die due to fatal injection this week about the murders of six girls and young women who are buried in the desert near El Paso. The court put the execution of Wood on a break “to further order”, without working out in their command of three pages.
Six of the nine members of the court made that decision, Fox 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth reported. Judges Mary Lou Keel and Gina Parker did not agree with the remaining of the execution of Wood and Judge Bert Richardson, who had already heard the profession of Wood in court since 2011, did not participate.
This was another delay for Wood, which was previously set for implementation in 2009 when it was put on hold about 24 hours in advance because of the claims that he was intellectually handicapped and was therefore not eligible for implementation. Those claims were later rejected by a judge and Wood was set up to die on Thursday.

The murders in 1987 remained unresolved for a few years until the authorities say that Wood brought against a cell mate that he was the so -called “desert killer”. The bodies of the victims were found buried in shallow graves in the same desert area Northeast of El Paso.
