The Senate will vote late this morning to break a filibuster about the appointment of Kash Patel To run the FBI.
Senators will vote to confirm him around 1:45 pm, with the end result after 2 p.m. et. He will be confirmed by festive lines.
The Senate then returns to the budget framework to promote parts of President Trump’s policy agenda.

The Senate started his 50-hour debate on the the budget Tuesday evening.
The budget process is long -term and difficult. It culminates in a marathon-voting series known as a voting-a-rama tonight and until Friday-so not the early hours of Saturday morning.
The last such mood-a-rama used 41 consecutive voices and lasted more than a day to complete in real time.
This tough exercise is all to achieve that end product that enables Republicans to circumvent Senate filibuster later. However, the proposal must be fiscal in nature and not add to the deficit for a period of 10 years.

The just pronounced mechanics create nothing more than a bowl. This is a legislative ‘chassis’. Both House and Senate Must have this to ultimately debate about substantive and “binding” provisions of legislation on the road – whether it is border protection or mass cuts. So this is an important phase when moving the President’s agenda, But not the end result.
House republicans will try to promote their own plan next week. It focuses more on tax cuts and has the president’s blessing. But the house and the senate still have to be on the same page. And so far they work on cross purposes.
