Bayer Leverkusen has suffered a significant blow to their hopes of winning silverware this season with The News Star Winger Florian Wirtz has been ruled out for “several weeks”.
International Germany is resting for the game on Saturday’s home with Werder Bremen, with the Commeric Night Champions League round-16 conflict with Bayern Munich in mind.
But it was transferred to the half time with the side of Xabi Alonso that fell 1-0.

It lasted just 14 minutes before going away after being at the end of a heavy challenge by Mitchell Weiser, as Leverkusen ended up losing 2-0.
An update from the Bundesliga champions this morning confirmed the bad news.

The statement read: “Bayer 04 should manage without Florian Wirtz. International Germany suffered a link injury to his right ankle in home game against Werder Bremen (0-2) on Saturday. This was the diagnosis of a MRI scan after the game.
“The 21 -year -old will be out of action for several weeks.”
Bayer Simon Rolfes athletic director added: “The loss of Florian obviously beats us at this stage of the season, but we will offset him with a strong team.
“We know Florian and we also know that he will return as soon as possible. Everyone will support him in it. We assume he will be fully suitable for the end of the season.”
Bayern put the Bundesliga title
Leverkusen is already facing the prospect of losing Bayern on two fronts this season.
Vincent Kompany men drive 3-0 to Champions League after a one-sided first leg in Bavaria Last week, while holding an eight -point lead over Lverkusen at the top of the Bundesliga.
However, they missed the opportunity to draw 11 points net after losing 3-2 at home at Bochum at the weekend.
