Since female athletes in the US have received protection from transgender opponents by the latest executive command of President Donald Trump, female athletes in Canada still have to do with a national system that Protects Trans -Athletes.
The basketball team for women Columbia Bible College (CBC) – An Evangelical Mennonite Bible College in Abbotsford, British Columbia – is now confronted with sanctions by the athletic conference, the Pacwest, about disputed accusations of abuse against a transgender -opponent earlier this season.
CBC ladies basketball head coach Taylor Claggett is currently suspended and the school has lost the right to organize the upcoming Pacwest championships after a recent investigation by the conference to an incident that took place in a match against Vancouver Island University (VIU) on 25 October.

“Pacwest has publicly stated that it has completed its research. CBC is deeply disappointed with Pacwest’s decision. We do not believe that a good process was followed or that the results were fair. As a result, we take steps to make the decision of Pacwest have it assessed.
During the game of 25 October VIU Trans -Athlete Harriette Mackenzie claimed that Clagett “driven one of our athletic staff and was about how I can’t play on Tirade.” Mackenzie made these allegations in an Instagram post on October 30.
Mackenzie claimed that she was also deliberately contaminated on the floor by a CBC player.
“I got two hand on the ground with no. 13 without a play on the ball in sight, then head coach Clagett can be seen in applauding for support,” said the Transatleet.
Clagett posted her own statement on Instagram and claimed that Mackenzie’s statements were inaccurate.
“My intention has nothing to do with a specific athlete, but instead the safety of female athletes in their sport,” she wrote.

When the two teams would play again in a few games at the beginning of January, VIU refused to participate, referring to the alleged incident of 25 October. VIU has even asked Pacwest not to punish his team for forfeiting, in a statement that it has provided to Fox News Digital.
After the news about the forfeiture statement, CBC provided a statement to FOX News Digital who refuses the allegations of Mackenzie.
“This was surprising news for us,” was the statement. “CBC stands for safe play for everyone. Accusations that CBC, his coaches, players and fans are a safety threat, are simply untrue and incorrectly informed.”
A letter written by the CBC players, obtained by FOX News Digital, condemned the VIU team for “personal attacks”, “defamatory comments” and even “comments on violence” against their coach.
“Videos and letters posted by members of the VIU basketball team for women in the past three months have directly violated several rules that are stated in Article 17.2 of the manual. Different messages have ‘personal attacks’, ‘defamatory comments’ ‘,’ defect To respect for respect for the Pacwest, “and led to” comments that encourage violence and/or hatred “aimed at our coach,” read the letter.
“All allegations of VIU players with regard to our team and coach should only have been communicated to Pacwest officials, they should not have been publicly uploaded to social media.”
The letter even called the statements of the VIU players ‘wrong information’.

“The attack on the character of coach Claggett and the character of our team, the past three months is based on incorrect information and one side of a complicated scenario,” it was.
Since June 2017, all places in Canada have to comply with the Canadian Human Rights ActEqual opportunities and/or anti-discrimination legislation prohibit discrimination against gender identity or sex identity expression. This law protects the inclusion of all trans -athletes in sports and girls sports.
The recent executive command of Trump in the US states that any institution financed by the government with which transatletes can compete in girls or women’s sports will lose its federal financing.
Trump has also repeatedly suggested that Canada joins the US, possibly if the 51st is.
