The US Army confirmed it carried out airstrikes in Yemen and said they targeted a missile warehouse and a command and control center operated by Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the successful strikes on Saturday, saying they were aimed at “disrupting and degrading” Houthi operations.
“CENTCOM forces carried out the deliberate attacks to disrupt and degrade Houthi operations, including attacks on US Navy warships and merchant vessels in the southern Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb and Gulf of Aden,” CENTCOM said in a press release.

CENTCOM footage showed the F/A-18 taking off. The agency said it also used assets from the navy and the air force.

“The strike reflects CENTCOM’s continued commitment to protect U.S. and coalition personnel, regional partners and international shipping,” the report said.

The attacks on shipping are ongoing, and Houthi militants have vowed to continue until Israel ends its campaign in Gaza.
The terrorist group has targeted more than a hundred people merchant ships since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in October 2023.
