A man who called 911 during a hallucination caused by drugs who claimed that people were trying to kill him and that his entire family had been killed, fired 30 shots in his house, causing his loved ones to hide for cover, illegally lived in the United States, the police said.

Homero Salinas, 47, was determined to be the source of the threat when Ferris police officers responded to a house around 2:40 am, the authorities said.

After taking cocaine and drinking alcohol, Salinas hallucinated when he fired 30 rounds, including several gunshots in the front of his family, the police said.

When officers responded to the house, Salinas was seen in a nearby street and taken in custody. He claimed to wear a ballistic cardigan, which was incorrect, the police said.
