Teachers In Massachusetts Warned that President Donald Trump’s recent executive actions focused on “awake” education in American schools would harm students and threaten the academic freedom of teachers in the classroom, according to a new report.
On January 29, Trump signed an executive order that dissected federal financing from K-12 schools who teach Critical racing theory (CRT) and promote “radical indoctrination” in gender ideology.
The education of CRT and other controversial content in schools has fueled the return of parents at school board meetings throughout the country in recent years. During his presidential campaign, Trump promised To reduce federal financing for schools that CRT, transgender ideology and “promote any other inappropriate racial, sexual or political content of our children.”
Some teachers in New England are concerned that the new restrictions on teaching CRT can lead to teachers self -censoring for fear that every discussion about race would make them a target of the new administration, the Boston Globe reported.

“It sends a hair -raising effect,” said retired history teacher Tom Jordan. “Every teacher I spoke to is completely in panic.”
According to The Globe reportThe largest trade unions of the teachers in the state have come out to denounce Trump’s attack on CRT.
Jessica Tang, president of the American Federation or Teachers Massachusetts, said to the Globe: “If we have not learned that history and we don’t know what happened, then we don’t understand why things are the way they are now. And then then I think it undermines democracy at the longer run. “
Marcus Walker, a Humanities Teacher at the Fenway High School in Boston, was worried that Trump’s actions would harm the academic freedom of teachers and set up students to learn an “unfair” view of the history of America.

Nicole Neily, president of parents who defend education, told Fox News Digital that she believes that American parents want the reform of Trump to the education space.
