On 3-0, the race was effective beyond Scotland.
Scotland struggled to create significant chances despite the few late efforts. Kieran Tierney’s left shot in the break time was well saved, scoring Scotland’s disappointing night in front of the goal.
Earlier, George Hirst had lost a narrow header, while Tommy Conway and Scott Mctominay saw their efforts to block or be comfortable.
There were many substitutions in the second half, with Scotland making changes in an effort to turn things around.
Discipline was also an issue for both teams, with various yellow cards. Lewis Ferguson, George Hirst and Vangelis Pavlidis were among those who had closed in a race that saw the fair share of fouls and holidays.
Greece’s compact defensive organization ensured that Scotland never found the game back. Visitors control the middle section and limited the hosts to speculative efforts from a distance.
Despite delayed attempts to rescue some pride, Scotland’s night ended with frustration, as Greece saw their 3-0 win.
