Sylvester Stallone makes a unique request to protect the mansion

Sylvester Stallone wants to move forward with plans to build an underwater barrier near his Palm Beach home despite the anger of neighbors in his affluent waterfront community.

Stallone, 78, reportedly has plans to build a seaweed barrier in the Intracoastal Waterway near his $35 million mansion. The Palm Beach Post.

In what appears to be billed as an environmental project necessary to keep debris and seaweed out of the waterway, “the overall purpose of the project is to exclude boaters” from the proximity of the property, according to a public notice from the Army Corps declared. Seaweed is listed as a secondary problem.

Neighbors were reportedly blindsided by the proposal request from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, which stated they had until 5 p.m. on Christmas Day to comment on Stallone’s project, the outlet reported.

For residents Susan Gary and husband Bradford, the announcement of the public comment period only recently came in the mail, and long after the window had closed for them to voice their concerns.

“They usually call when your neighbors are going to do something, as we discovered in Palm Beach,” Gary said. “Many local residents are concerned.”

Last year, Stallone spoke about his decision to move to the East Coast after building his career and family Los Angeles. In the opening scenes of his Netflix documentary “Sly,” Stallone spoke about the decision to move, saying it helped his creativity.
