Suspect arrested after stabbing in Germany at Holocaust Memorial


German police Arrested a suspect after a stabbing in Berlin Holocaust Memorial left a person seriously injured on Friday evening.

The police have not yet given a motive or made a connection between the stabbing and the Holocaust Memorial, known as the monument for the murdered Jews of Europe, or the American embassy nearby.

The stabbing also came two days before that of Germany National elections On Sunday.

According to the Associated Press, the victim, whose injuries are not life threatening, was identified as a 30-year-old Spanish tourist.

“Our forces have held a suspect near the crime scene,” The Berlin police have posted on X. “Investigation continues.”

During a press conference, police spokesman Florian Nath said that the attack took place around 6 pm, “probably with a knife. Maybe with something else.”

The suspect was arrested about three hours later after being seen near the monument.

“He had blood on his hands, and this made him very suspicious,” Nath said.

In an update, the police said in X that a larger area around the crime scene was searched “for instructions by extra emergency services, police dogs and the police helicopter.”
