In particular, the bill would ensure that the President can impose sanctions on foreign governments who refuse to accept the return of their citizens who have received the US illegally – refuse access to the American financial system.
The bill would also punish individuals and entities that knowingly and knowingly illegal immigration, including human smuggling networks and financial institutions that make their activities possible.
Bernie Moreno said that the bill will give the president “all the authority he must exercise to practice maximum pressure against corrupt persons within foreign governments that refuse to allow the US to secure our boundaries.” (Reuters)
It would also authorize Trump to call his authorities under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to block assets and to limit transactions with regard to sanctioned individuals and entities.
The bill would also oblige a report from the President on actions that are taken on the basis of the bill, which provides transparency to the congress for further legislative action.
“If a foreign entity shows resistance to repatriation or makes illegal immigration possible to the United States, they must be confronted with the full strength of our economic and national security instruments,” Scott told Fox News Digital on Monday. “The American people gave President Trump – and the congress – a mandate to combat illegal immigration, and this bill will ensure that the president has important instruments to keep responsible countries and criminal organizations that refuse to comply with our immigration laws.”

Scott added: “I am proud to lead this important effort to protect the safety of Americans.”
Moreno told Fox News Digital that the bill will give the president “all authority he must exercise to practice maximum pressure against corrupt persons within foreign governments that refuse to allow the US to secure our boundaries.”
“Socialist dictators such as Gustavo Petro will learn that they have two options with President Trump when it comes to recovery of migrants: the easy way and the difficult way,” Moreno told Fox News Digital.
