Shakur Stevenson says he thinks Tence Crawford had the style of defeating Canelo Alvarez even before Dmitry Bivol did it several years ago. Stevenson says he watched Crawford to hurt the heavyweight and does not believe that Canelo can walk forward against him with his power.
Stevenson says he began to believe that Crawford would beat Canelo in 2021 when he fought Welterweight Shakur Porter. He felt that the then 34 -year -old Porter was a good meter to predict Crawford’s performance three sections above 168.

Crawford, 37, will challenge Canelo for his zones on September 16th. Although the two divisions go on to weight, Shakur does not see it as a problem that Terence. He says he thinks Crawford was the best fighter in Super Middleweight for many years.
Lightweight WBC Stevenson champion said he would not matter that Crawford (41-0, 31 kos) is moving two sections from 154 to 168 to challenge consolidated Canelo champion (62-2-2, 38 ko).
“I put it out since Crawford fought Shawn Porter (2021 at Welterweight). Ringrevealing that he had predicted four years ago that Terence Crawford would beat Canelo.
It is logical to assume that Shakur’s views on the Canelo-Crawford race are influenced by his close friendship with Bud and his faith in him. This is a natural thing. Obviously he wants to see Crawford give him this opportunity without winning it in the way other fighters have to do.
The heavyweight claim
“I felt in this weight category (168), Terence Crawford is the biggest, “Shakur said of how he felt that Crawford was the best in Super Middleweight without ever playing there.” I just feel that in Canelo’s style, and this is before (dmitry) bivol. I felt that Terence Crawford was the only guy who could beat Canelo in his style.

If Shakur thinks Crawford was the best fighter in 168 for years, why didn’t he go up to try himself? He could do it years ago, and he made a lot more money than he has on Welterweight. The only big money match that Crawford had at 147 is Errol Spence. If he could beat all Super Middleweights years, as Shakur argues, why didn’t he do it?
Crawford could not hurt Israil Madrimov with his fists in his last match in 154 and is nowhere close to heavyweight. If he had the kind of power to harm the heavyweight, he should have shown that against Madrimov.
