Spurs End 106-Day Wait for home win as Amorim suffers again

James Maddison’s 13th minute strike on his return from the injury first gave Tottenham to win the Premier League home from November 3, completing a hat-trick wins over Manchester United this season.

The Maddison midfielder fell to hit when Andre Onana pushed Lucas Bergvall’s corner route on his path, though Alejandro Garnacho sent a golden opportunity to visitors high above Crossbar shortly afterwards.

The result will boost the criticism of United Ruben Amorim’s director, who has lost eight and won four of the league’s 14 games since he left Sporting for Old Trafford in November.

The Spurs moved over United and increased to 12th, while the 20 -time champions are 15th and closer to the relegation zone than the top six.

Tottenham’s director, Ange Postecoglou, has repeatedly emphasized the difference he will make in the irregular form of his side when there are more members of the long list of injuries.

Maddison and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario somehow proceeded to prove the Australian spot as they proved vital to a first victory in eight games at home from Aston Villa’s 4-1 defeat almost four months ago.

Vicario was holding United on the Gulf on his return after breaking his ankle in November and there were more good news for Postcoglou on the bench, where long -term absences Brennan Johnson, Destiny Udogie and Wilson Odobert described.

The On-Lan Bayern Munich Forward Mathys Tel was alive in his full debut for Tottenham, drawing from Onana when Son Heung-Min ate 19 years shortly after the game.

Amorim cut a well -known laborious attitude when Garnacho burst out of Bruno Fernandes’ smart pass, but Spurs gave his possession in the first half and deserved the winners.

Casemiro began in his first appearance in the Premier League in 2025 and was part of a United team who fought for inspiration as the Spurs reunited them.

United lost 3-0 at home to Tottenham in the league before Amorim replaced Erik Ten Hag and was hit by the EFL Cup at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 19th.

Tottenham is then in action when traveling to the city of Ipswich third bottom on Saturday (3pm GMT), while Amorim’s side visits in Everton-format-that has moved a point over them since appointing former boss David Moyes-in 12.30 pm the same day.
