South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol was freed from the prison on Saturday after a court had canceled his arrest to allow him to stand for rebellion without physical holding.
This is after Yoon was arrested in January and charged by public prosecutors during his adoption of the State of Siege on December 3 – which leads to political unrest in the country – that the National Assembly voted to return a few hours later. The national meeting also voted to accuse him, which resulted in his suspension of his office.
Yoon was seen on Saturday, waving with his hand, his fists clamping and bending for his supporters who shouted his name and waved South Korean and American national flags. He entered a black van to travel to his home in Seoul.

The Constitutional Court has deliberated whether he formally reject or repair Yoon as president. If the court maintains its deposition, An election for a new president will be held within two months.
The Central Court of Seoul said on Friday that it accepted Yoon’s request to be liberated from prison, pointing to the need to answer questions about the legality of the president’s investigations.

Yoon’s lawyers argued that the investigation body that held him before his formal arrest was missing legal authority to investigate rebellious charges.
The court in Seoul also said that the legal period of his formal arrest was before his indictment.
The release of Yoon came from prison after officers of justice had chosen against the ruling of the Central Court of Seoul. The South Korean law enables officers of justice to keep a suspect in custody while pursuing an appeal, even after the arrest has been canceled by a court.
