Snoop Dogg and daughter Corey Broadus’ relationship over the years

Snoop Dogg has a special bond with her daughter, Corey Broadus.

Snoop (real name Calvin Broadus) and his wife, Chante Broaduswelcomed Corey in 1999, five years after the arrival of their son Korde. The rapper also has a son, Julian, born in 1998 Laurie Holmond.

While Snoop is a doting father (and grandfather!) to all his offspring, Corey holds a special place in his heart.

Dad rules

Snoop brought Corey, then 8, to a 2008 taping The Ellen DeGeneres Show where DeGeneres asked Cory if her father was a strict parent.

“You say I am not strict. Tell Ellen how old you have to be to have a boyfriend,” Snoop quipped.

Corey then called out “77.”

Snoop later gushed that parenting is “(his) love” and “job,” even though he’s keeping it tough.

“I’m difficult. I curse them, but my philosophy is to pick on them and then pick them up,” he explained. “This is what I do to tell them that I expect more from them because they are better than that. … I’m like the best example for them to show them how someone can come out of a negative environment and create a positive path for themselves.”

What’s in a name

Corey named his cosmetics line Choc Factory by Choc as a nod to his father.

Father’s advice

During an appearance in October 2024. on Today, Snoop revealed that he always tells his kids to “be themselves at all times.”

“You have to let the kids be adults and as soon as they need your information, you’re there as a parent to give it to them,” he added.

Elsewhere on his 2024 Today appearance, Snoop reversed their decision to participate in reality television.

“We wanted to do a show based on her and the things she goes through and how she copes,” he said. “Such a beautiful show because you see a young woman going through things in life with the support of her father and mother, but she has to go through them alone.”

A seven-figure wedding gift

Corey got engaged to Wayne Deuce in November 2022. Before their wedding day, Snoop went all out with his gift.

Marriage advice

Watching Snoop and Shante’s long-term relationship inspired Corey’s own marriage.
