A Saturday Night Live the season isn’t complete without a joke—however subtle—dedicated to Colin Jostwife, actress Scarlett Johansson.
included Saturday, December 14, episodecast member Andrew Dismukes offered a short joke about Johansson, 40, making a living in her and Jost’s marriage.
Dismukes, 29, portrayed a “bald man” during the Weekend Update segment, sharing his views on a new UK court ruling banning harassment of men with hair loss. At one point, Dismukes pretended to use a towel to wipe his bare head.
“Do you think this is funny Colin? I have to carry some shame with me in case my head gets wet,” quipped Dismukes. “(I) challenge you to laugh. Glad to see your ass in court.
He added: “My hairless palms on some of your Marvel wife’s money!”
Yost, 42, quickly interrupted Dismukes to end the segment as he burst into laughter.
Yost, the co-host of SNL“Weekend Update” on f married to Johansson from 2020 They originally met on the set of the NBC variety show. (Johansson, of course, is perhaps best known for her role as Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff in various Marvel films, including 2021’s black widow.)
“We laugh a lot and hang out with each other and check in,” said Johansson, who shares son Cosmo with Jost. on CBS Mornings in June 2023 “I’m married to a writer, he’s a comedy writer. Sometimes he can lose his head, he’s kind of an introvert. I’m an extrovert and I think the key for us is always checking in, just asking at the end of the day, “How was your day?”
Johansson also understands that their lives it can become fodder for SNL jokes.
“Now I rarely watch (SNL) without feeling like … not overwhelming panic, just like a little overwhelming panic, because I just feel like at any moment something is going to fall apart,” Johansson previously said during an appearance in July 2021. The Kelly Clarkson Show. “And that’s the excitement of SNL and for all audiences, right? Because it’s absolutely live.”
Colin Yost and Michael Che’s annual “joke swap” segment on Saturday Night Live may be a tradition, but Yost’s wife Scarlett Johansson wants no part of it. Johansson, 39, said she “blacked out” when she saw her photo during the “Weekend Update” segment, where Jost, 42, and Che, 41, wrote outrageous jokes about each other (…)
At the time, she continued, “But when you’re emotionally invested in it and not just entertained by it, it takes on a little bit of a different life.”
In addition to Dismukes’ subtle joke about Johansson’s Marvel salary on Saturday, the actress was name-dropped in other Weekend Update segments. Yost’s butler, Michael Cheoften sneaks a reference in their annual holiday joke swap for Christmas episodes.
