Liverpool manager Arne Slott believes his side’s “quality difference” is what earned them a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The Reds dismantled League Two side Accrington Stanley with 4-0 winners.
Federico Chiesa scored his first goal for Liverpool, while Trent Alexander-Arnold was also on the scoresheet despite being linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Speaking after the game, Slot said: “I forgive them, I think they showed their style of play, which is a big compliment.
“They played the same style they always play. In the end, of course, the difference in quality makes a big difference to us, but congratulations to them for how they performed today.
“Trent didn’t have his best game against Manchester United but for the rest of the season he’s been so good for us – I loved his performance today.
🗣️ “There were a few moments where the fans could see why we think he’s a talent.” ✨

“Our fans have always given him great support. He didn’t play well once, but the fans responded to that. If Trent plays what we expect from him, then he will have support.”
On Chiesa, he added: “It’s definitely a good first step, but as much as I liked the way Accrington Stanley played, we have to take into account that we’re talking about League Two level.
“It’s good to have him back on the field. It was a threat, but let’s not get carried away.”
16-year-old Rio Ngumoja started for Liverpool, making him the youngest player in the club’s history to start an FA Cup game.
He showed flashes of quality and left the slot impressed with his Anfield bow.
He said: “He did well. There were a few moments where the fans could see why we think he’s a talent. He is good in one-v-one situations.
“He showed a bit more in the first half than he did in the second half. It’s nice to make your debut and get the win. It’s a special day for him.”
