“Our family has really been followed, stalked, bullied and bullied by the media for eight years,” said Sherri Papini in a court requesting a Friday visit According to KRCR. “I did my best to stay private to concentrate on my children and to cure the events that happened. Many years after my arrest I was the primary caretaker of our children before I served my time in prison. My children have always been my most important focus.”

In November 2016, Sherri Papini left her salvation, California for a jog and did not return. She appeared 22 days later bound, beaten and with a brand on her shoulder 150 miles from her house, claiming that she had been abducted weeks earlier by two Spanish females.
For years, local and federal law enforcement spent an enormous amount of resources trying to resolve the alleged crime, only to discover that Papini had remained in Costa Mesa with an ex-boyfriend during the three weeks she misses.

She was finally linked to her ex-boyfriend by DNA evidence, and he came clean with authorities, and Charged in March 2022 With 35 counts of post fraud and one count of lying against a federal officer.
Her husband, Keith Papini, submitted for divorce And the custody of their children immediately afterwards.
Later in the year she accepted a plea and admitted her guilt in a census and the indictment against a federal officer.
