Senator Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, has approved Vivek RamasWamy To be Governor of Ohio.
Ramaswamy, a former presidential primary candidate from 2024 who has the Ministry of Government Efficiency of President Donald Trump short co-chairman, formally launched his Gubernatorial Campaign 2026 on February 24.
Trump almost immediately threw his support behind RamasWamy’s bid, and now the biotech entrepreneur has received an important approval from Moreno, one of the two senators of the Buckeye State.

“Vivek is an American outsider and the best person to make Ohio the very best state to live, work and found a family,” said Moreno in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital.
“I am proud to become a member of President Trump in the end of a daring leader to be Ohio’s next governor,” he added.
Moreno announced that he ended RamasWamy on Saturday evening during an event. “The first and only moral duty of our chosen officials is for American citizens,” wrote Ramaswamy on X and shared a clip of Moreno’s comments. “Senator Bernie Moreno understands that and does not apologize for it. He is a star in the American Senate and I am proud to earn his approval tonight. Our party is united in Ohio and we will not wander it.”
The other American senator from Ohio, Senator John Husted, also a republican, filled vice president JD Vance’s cleaning seat. It was the expected support of Ramaswamy through Trump and strong financing that some political observers believe that they are convinced, formerly the Lieutenant Governor of Ohio, to accept the Senate Agreement instead of launching a primary gubernatorial offer. Husted was previously considered a likely leader for Governor.

Ohio Gov. Mike Dewine, seen as a branch of a Republican, named Jim Tressell, a popular former football coach in Ohio State Buckeyes, to replace Husted as a Lieutenant Governor. The future political ambitions of Tressell remain unclear.

The timing of Trump’s announcement intrigued the political observers of Ohio, who have looked at in recent years because his decisions to weigh on important races have gone over the entire state from days before the elections to months, until now more than a year.
Robert Clegg, an old Republican campaign advisor in the state, told the Associated Press last month that it can be meant as a message for Ohio attorney General Dave Yost, who is looking for the Republican nomination for Governor, or perhaps even Tressell. “This is terribly early in the game, and I might expect approval later this year – such as the fall, or even wait until January,” Clegg said. “I wonder if the president does not want a knock-down, drag-out Primary here in Ohio.”

The approval of Trump is expected to help Ramaswamy’s early campaign efforts in a state voted three times on Trump on Trump.
