Fox NewsSean Hannity says he’s “excited” to host FOX Nation’s sixth annual Patriot Awards, promising to be a “very special night” for attendees and viewers alike.

“And I think that’s what makes it special. And there are so many great patriots in the country who deserve recognition. It’s an honor to be a part of that.”

Hannity called this year’s recipients “an eclectic mix of people” who deserve recognition. Among them is President-elect Donald Trumpthat Hannity previously announced will receive the Patriot of the Year award.
“If you really think about everything he went through, he didn’t have to run for president again… Think about what he risked,” Hannity said. “I mean, with all the effort of his political enemies, they wanted to put this man in jail… He came within an inch of losing his life. And what did he do? He stood up and said, ‘Fight, fight. , fight.’ I mean, in my opinion, pretty remarkable bravery under fire.
“And so I think he’s extremely deserving. And I just think the fact that he can be there is a great honor for us and for the Patriot Awards and for all the other recipients. I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to to do this.” see him and meet him. And it’s exciting for everyone.”

Hannity recalled how he thought the 2016 and last month’s elections were about “the forgotten men and women of this country,” people he said the Patriot Awards would honor.
“These are not people that are written about. They are unsung heroes, their generosity, their dedication, they are true patriots,” Hannity said. ‘They never get any prizes. They don’t get any recognition. And the fact that we are doing our best to bring attention to them and that the president is also part of it makes it extra special. But to highlight them and recognize them, I think it’s just recognizing what really makes the country special and great.”
He continued, “We are the most generous people on this earth. And people give up their time. They give to charities. They do heroic and patriotic things that are inspiring. I think the attention they wouldn’t otherwise receive makes it really special.”
