Schumer left in the cold through Top House Democrat in the midst of Shutdown -Drama

The silence of Jeffries on his colleague New York Liberal comes when other Democratic legislators focus their anger on Schumer because he announces that he will vote with Republicans to avert a partial one Government closure.

Jeffries later pushed back emphatically when Fox News wondered if he “was afraid of saying something about Schumer.”

“Don’t characterize my comments. I’m not afraid of anything,” said Jeffries.

When he was pressed again, he said: “Do you think this is what the American people are getting around now? Or do they want us to do everything we can do to stop this part -time and harmful Republican account to actually become a law? Because what we as Huisdemocrats are focused on now.”

Jeffries avoided Schumer’s mentioning during his press conference, but reporters pressed him with questions about the growing gap between him and the senior democrat.

He did not answer immediately when he was asked if Schumer “agreed” President Donald TrumpJust indicate that the mood had not yet taken place.

“That is a question that is best tackled by the Senate. The mood has not yet taken place and the democratic position of the house is very clear. We strongly oppose all the efforts to reduce the health care of the American people, veteran benefits and nutritional aid, all of which are in the partial Republican account,” Jeffries said.

The bill brought the house last week with the support of just one house democrat rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine.

The house and the Senate must send a bill to the Trump office at midnight to prevent a partial closure of the government.
