Sarah Ferguson Would Marry Prince Andrew ‘Again’

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York praises her former marriage to her ex-husband Prince Andrew.

In new interview with The Sunday Times published on Saturday, December 14, the 65-year-old Duchess of York talks about her relationship with Prince Andrew.

“I was completely and utterly in love with Andrew,” she told the publication of the early years of her relationship with Andrew, 64. “I would do it again, 100 percent. He is the best, great guy with a big heart and kind. Our wedding was the best day of my life. But that day I gave up my anonymity. I succeeded because love conquers all. It is still with us today. I will not let him down.”

She added: “He supports me as much as I support him. He has supported me in both bad and difficult situations, not only in marriage or divorce. We agree with the three C’s – Communication, Compromise, Compassion.

Fergie’s interview was conducted before news broke that Andrew was involved with a businessman accused of as a Chinese spy. In a statement to the BBC on Saturday, the Duke of York said he had “ceased all contact” with the person and that he had met the man “through official channels” and “nothing of a sensitive nature (was) discussed”. “

As for Ferguson, she further reflected on the earliest days of her and Andrew’s relationship while speaking to The Sunday Times.

“I first met Andrew when I was 12,” she told the publication. “My first thought was that I would marry him. We came back into each other’s lives when Diana invited me to Ascot in 1985. and six months later we were engaged. You weren’t allowed to date or live with each other back then. Diana couldn’t, I couldn’t.

Ferguson said the next generation of royals “learned” from them, noting, “Sophie (Duchess of Edinburgh) and Catherine (Princess of Wales) could. They both met their boys.”

Ferguson’s sister, Jane Ludeke, also spoke to The Sunday Times about the former couple’s relationship.

“Sarah and Andrew are the best divorced couple I know,” Luedeke said. “They did it for their children; this is amazing. I came to stay at the Royal Lodge in May and went riding with Andrew at Windsor Castle. It was great to get back on a horse and ride through the grounds again.”

Prince Andrew has had a past full of controversy and accusations. In October 2019 Andrew was accused by Virginia Roberts Juffer of sexual abuse. It came amid news of his friendship with the late Jeffrey Epstein.

In an interview with BBC Newsnight in November 2019. Andrew denied the allegations, saying he had “no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none”. Andrew said, “It just never happened.”
