Sanctuary city officials in the state New York Wednesday held a press conference where they destroyed members of their own police for helping Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents who stopped a van with a maximum of eight passengers.
Officers at the Rochester Police Department (RPD) were summoned by the federal agencies on Monday to respond to an emergency base. While responding, RPD gave the suspects out of the vehicle and helped them to place them in handcuffs, the police said.
Mayor of Democratic Rochester Malik Evans said that the actions of the police officers were against the city Sanctuary resolution and a general order of the police, forbidden the police to enforce immigration laws.

Evans and Rochester Police Department (RPD) Chief David Smith held a press briefing to sound with the officers who answered a phone call from Border Patrol.
“The officers on stage have ordered the occupants to get out of the vehicle and this is against our policy,” said Evans. “Our policy is crystal clear, city police officers help or do not participate in federal immigration activities.”
Video from the incident shows what different unark border patrol and HSI vehicles seem to be around a chestnut brown work bus with ladders attached to the roof. A police vehicle then arrives on stage and two officers get out.
Federal agents captivate the driver, while Rochester Police According to Wxxinews, other people removed from the van.

Bystander images of the incident show that a woman is fighting with two HSI agents and who demands her husband to see, saying: “They are not illegal”, per Wxxinews.
It is unclear how many people have been held and for what reason. The city is about 90 miles east of Niagara Falls and the US – Canadian border.
Evans said that he instructed police chief David Smith to remember each member of the armed forces about the city’s directive. Smith also chose Evans’s side and scolded the officers.
“From looking at the camera images worn by the body, as far as I am concerned, despite the fact that we were called, we lighted and sirens went,” said Evans about the incident on Whitney Road near Lyell Avenue.
“In the video I see a total lack of urgency on the part of several border patrol officers on the spot,” said Smith.
Smith read a debriefing that a lieutenant gave officers after the incident.
“If this happens again, we should not remove people from vehicles. We are not allowed to fascinate subjects,” said Smith. “We are not allowed to do Pat -Frisks on topics, and we will definitely not hold or put it in our cars.”
Fox News Digital reached Border Patrol and Ice, but did not immediately receive a response.
The Rochester Police Locust Club Union defended the actions of the officers and called Evans’ statements “a complete overreaction” after what a call was to help on an emergency base.

The trade union said in a press release that when the police arrived on stage, the passengers were not cooperative and that the police did not introduce the stop stop. The union said that officers had no information about the passengers of the van, nor did they ask for them Immigration status.
“As with every law enforcement agency that indicates that it has a critical situation in the city of Rochester, officers reacted under lights and sirens … expected that their co -enforcement officers are in need when they arrived,” is the press release.
They said that the officers “did nothing wrong, except for a call to answer help from another agency.”
