Ryan Routh, suspected Trump assassin, will appear at the federal court hearing

Ryan Routh, the man accused of committing murder then-presidential candidate Donald Trump at a Florida golf course in September, will appear for a hearing in federal court Wednesday morning after his lawyers moved to delay the start of his trial in February.

Federal Judge Aileen Cannon, who previously presided over and ultimately dismissed Trump’s federal secret documents case, will preside over the hearing in Fort Pierce, FL.

Attorneys for both sides were expected to discuss the timeline and details of pending discovery materials and other issues related to pretrial motions or trial preparations.

Routh allegedly lurked with a gun for more than 12 hours on the edge of the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach while Trump was golfing on September 15. A Secret Service agent saw Routh point a gun through a fence and shoot at him. Routh fled and was arrested that day.
