Russia is waiting for Washington to give details about Us-ukrainian cease-fire conversations That took place in Saudi Aarabia before commenting on the proposal, the Kremlin said Wednesday.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Moscow is waiting for “detailed information” of the US about the 30-day cease-fire plan with which Ukraine agreed, which suggests that Russia must be informed about those details before it can say whether a proposed cease-fire is acceptable.
Russia has resisted a permanent end of the conflict so far and has not accepted any concessions.
State Secretary Marco Rubio, who led the American delegation in Tuesday’s conversations with Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia, said that Ukraine was open for a 30-day ceasefire. Rubio said the US will inform Russia about the details of the proposal.

“We are going to tell (the Russians), this is what is on the table. Ukraine is ready to stop photographing and start talking. And now it’s up to them to say yes or no,” Rubio told reporters After the conversations. “If they say no, then we will unfortunately know what the obstacle is for peace here.”

After the conversations in Saudi Arabia, the Trump government has lifted its suspension of military aid for Kyiv’s fight against Russia’s invasion.

President Donald Trump said he hoped that an agreement could be solidified “in the coming days”.
“I said that Russia was easier to deal with than Ukraine so far, which should not be as it is,” Trump said later on Tuesday. “But that’s it, and we hope to get Russia. But we have a complete cease -the Fires from Ukraine. That’s good.”
Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is expected to travel to Moscow this week, a source that is familiar with the case told Fox News on Tuesday after Media reports said Witkoff was planning to meet the Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Rubio was optimistic about the conversations in Saudi Aarabia and wrote in a post on X that “today was a good day for peace”, although the decision to continue now lies with Russia.
“Thanks to the leadership of @potus and under the graceful hospitality of crown prince Mohammed bin Salman, we are one step closer to restoring sustainable peace for Ukraine,” said Rubio. “The ball is now in the Russian court.”
