The 37-year-old professional wrestler announced the arrival of their daughter via Instagram post shared on Thursday, January 10th.
“Our little girl came into this world during a storm in a burning city so thankful you made it out safe and sound,” Rosie captioned the post, revealing their daughter’s name is “Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha Browne ❤️”
A video of the couple’s oldest daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō, 2, visiting her mother and newborn baby sister in hospital with her father accompanied the caption.
Also included in the carousel of images were several family photos taken at Rousey’s hospital bed.
Rousey surprised fans in July when she announced her pregnancy during the San Diego Comic Con.
The athlete shared the news during her panel for her first graphic novel, Expecting the unexpectedtelling the crowd that she and Brown are expecting their second child.
Rousey, 42, and Brown married in August 2017. in Brown’s home state of Hawaii. The couple expanded their family in September 2021. with the birth of their daughter La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō. Brown is also the father of sons Keawe and Kaleo from a previous relationship.
In October 2021 Rousey caught a glimpse of her experience in motherhood as she wrote about breastfeeding via an Instagram post.
“Our boys asked me the other day how I was going to feed Po on the plane when we took her with us to Hawaii. And I was like ‘uhh, like I always do’ 🤷🏼♀️ Then it occurred to me that they’ve probably never seen someone breastfeed and aren’t sure if it’s appropriate in public,” she wrote.
Rousey added that breastfeeding in public should not be seen as taboo as it is a natural experience.
“Motherhood is a nasty, primal, beautiful thing that shouldn’t be hidden,” she added. “It still shocks me that my body picked up this little guy, pushed him and now does everything he needs to thrive 🤯 It’s really nothing to be ashamed of, it’s something to brag about🤰🏼👩 🏼🍼 #normalizebreastfeeding #proudmama. “
A few months before her breastfeeding post, Rousey was candid her pregnancy experience and praised Brown for his support.
“I wish I could say that pregnancy is amazing, that I’ve never felt stronger as a woman. But I feel like my organs are crushed by the miracle of life,” Rousey wrote via an Instagram post from July 2021. “I’ve never felt more exhausted, unmotivated or aware of gravity. Some days I have to lie on my side for hours just to breathe comfortably. There’s no downtime, it’s a grind, I’m just trying to take it day by day.”
Rousey continued, “Thank God for Mr. Brown. Not a day goes by without him telling me that I am beautiful, sexy, loved and appreciated. He holds my belly to give me a break from being carried, gives me bites of whatever he eats, then drags me hissing into the sunlight when I want to fill up with Gollum. He makes me proud to put on a swimsuit and show the world what I sometimes want to hide from myself.”
