Just hours after members of the Michigan and Ohio State football teams argued about a flag plant in midfield, a similar incident occurred in North Carolina.
NC State defeated North Carolina 35-30 in Chapel Hill on Saturday and wanted to let everyone know.
So shortly after the game, members of the Wolfpack tried to plant an NC State flag at midfield, where the Tar Heel logo is.

UNC made an exception and the players had to be properly separated after a lot of punches were thrown.
Groups of players stood on top of each other near midfield in what became a terrifying incident.
UNC receiver JJ Jones grabbed the flag and threw it into the stands before getting into it with a member of the Wolfpack.
In the end, NC State celebrated with their fans.
Even Florida and Florida State had to be separated later in the day. This situation calmed down relatively quickly and it did not appear that any punches were thrown. Head coaches Mike Norvell and Billy Napier had an animated conversation about the incident, and Norvell tossed the Florida flag aside.
No such incident occurred in College Station after Texas defeated Texas A&M in the return of the interstate rivalry after a more than decade-long hiatus.

The UNC game marked Mack Brown’s finals, with the school announcing Tuesday that he will not return next year.
Hollywood Smothers slipped through the middle of the line for a two-yard touchdown with 25 seconds left to help NC State defeat their in-state rivals.
In Florida, the Gators took home a 31-11 victory in Tallahassee in a season to forget for the Seminoles.

Both the Wolfpack and Tar Heels are awaiting bowl destinations – with the latter also awaiting the hiring of their next coach. The Gators will also see who they play in a bowl game, as the Noles went 2-10.
